Welcome to Sixteen Magazine.

Volume 2: This Time it’s Colourful.

We’re thrilled to announce Sixteen Magazine is back… and this time it’s colourful! Volume 1 focused on the 1916 commemorations but we’re completely changing the focus for this volume. Some things remain the same: there will be 16 issues over 16 months and every month we’ll be picking a featured writer. Every issue will have a theme based on a different colour. We’re looking for poetry and short stories.

Calling Submissions for Issue 10: Orange

“I feel a little dizzy,” said Orion. “But also wonderfully elated. I feel that I am on the verge of finding a rhyme for the word orange.”
Eoin Colfer, The Atlantis Complex

We’re looking for poems and short stories with the theme of orange. There are no big rules except your piece of work should be the best it can be. It should be as long as it needs to be and it should be ready for publication. Please see our full submission guidelines before you submit. There’s a few images below to give you a few ideas.

To submit your work, please email it in any of the following formats: doc, docx, txt, rtf to submit@sixteen.ie. Don’t forget to make sure the subject line has the word “SIXTEEN” in it or we won’t be able to email you back.

Deadline is: 16th June 2017
