At Sixteen, we want to hear from everyone who writes, whether you’re just starting off or you are the most famous writer in the world! We accept all forms of writing and we’re also happy to accept any images that respond to the prompts. However, we do have some guidelines to keep standards as high as we can.
Only your work.
All submissions should be original works written by the author. We allow submissions that have been published by you on blogs, web sites or in books as long as you have permission to do so.
Read the prompt.
Please only send us submissions that relate to our prompts. If you think you need to explain why your piece fits into the theme, you might add a note to explain. (However, if you do need to explain, it probably doesn’t fit!)
Submit by Email with Subject SIXTEEN
Submissions are only accepted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org using the subject line SIXTEEN. Submissions will need to be accompanied by a short bio and the name of the prompt you are responding to. Also, please do not submit by post. It will only worry us as we will have no idea how you have found out where we live.
Submit One Piece
Submit only one piece of writing per prompt. While you might have lots of great work, pick your favourite and submit that. Also, keep your piece as short as possible. We won’t impose a word limit but we have limited attention spans.
Tell us about Yourself
We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files. Make sure to send a bio in less than 100 words with your submission. Tell us about yourself, your writing and anything else that’s interesting.
